Shri Krishna Kaliya Mardan Temple, located at Manik Chowk, Mathura, is one of the most sacred and ancient temples of Braj Bhoomi. The temple is deeply associated with the divine pastime of Lord Shri Krishna subduing the poisonous serpent Kaliya Naag, as described in the Shrimad Bhagavat Purana. This holy shrine stands as a symbol of divine protection, victory of good over evil, and eternal devotion. According to ancient scriptures, especially the Shrimad Bhagavat Purana, the Yamuna River was once terrorized by the venomous serpent Kaliya Naag. His poison had polluted the waters, causing immense suffering to the people of Braj.
🏗️ TEMPLE ESTABLISHMENT & HISTORY
The present structure of Shri Krishna Kaliya Mardan Temple was constructed in Samvat 1956 (approximately 1899 AD) by Shri Kali Sahu Ji, a great devotee of Lord Krishna.
